Pasquale Cioffi joined the tech support team at Poly Prep in 2010 after graduating from Farmingdale State College with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. Since then, his responsibilities expanded and now encompass larger scale school technology integrations. Among these are Google Apps user management, which includes emails and dedicated cloud-based apps. He also helps oversee Poly’s Data Centers at the Dyker and Park Slope campuses, where the school’s servers, firewalls, and switches are kept online and maintained to keep the school running day to day. Some of these systems help students, teachers, and staff to use resources like YouTube videos, shared file servers, security alarms, temperature control systems, and everything in between; and their information is kept safe through secure protocols. Pasquale strives for efficiency and ease-of-use for his department, and looks to advance Poly’s use of technology, and limit its energy footprint. He also runs the Upper and Middle School eSports program, which helps students learn fundamentals of teamwork, self-discipline, and self-improvement in a fun and competitive manner against students from across the globe, with the potential to win scholarships to colleges and universities. Outside of Poly, his interests include reading comic books/graphic novels, drawing comics, traveling, working out, spending time with his family, and playing sports with friends.
